Dental implants: who they suit and how they work
Implants are today the closest replacement to a natural tooth - when are they the answer and when do we wait?
What an implant is
A titanium fixture that fuses with the jawbone and acts as an artificial root, topped with a crown. It preserves bone and leaves neighbouring teeth untouched, unlike traditional bridges.
Success conditions
Adequate bone density, healthy gums, and commitment to hygiene and follow-up. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes need special assessment.
The stages
Examination and 3D imaging, then the fixture, a healing period, and the final crown. And as a member of the Egyptian Society of Implant Dentistry I follow current scientific protocols at every stage.
